Hey Guys,

Last time, we spoke about the big problem with chasing fasting results in fitness & health. If you haven’t already, then check it out here as it makes this blog make more sense.

We concluded that to get quality results that actually last, instead of looking for a quick fix, we need to address the fundamentals; eating, training & lifestyle habits.

Now the best way to do this is to take a look at what you are currently doing.

1. A few simple things to look into first:

Exercise

  • How much are you walking?
  • Do you go to the gym or not? How often?
  • How intense are your workouts?

Nutrition

  • What are your eating habits like? (a food diary or food diary app can help a lot here)
  • How many meals do you eat per day?
  • How many servings of protein?
  • How many servings of veg?
  • How much dessert do you have?
  • How much alcohol do you drink per week?

The hardest part of the journey is having the willingness to face this level of accountability. And by shining this spotlight on your habits, a lot will be revealed to you. You will now have some clear things you can work on.

If you’re not training you can begin to plan how you can train more often.

If you’re not having many servings of protein and veg you can commit to working on this.

2. Next step: Commit to making one small change very week. However, it must be realistic and compliments your current lifestyle
  • ‘I ran 2k twice last week. Okay this week I’m either gonna do 2.5k twice or add a third 2k’
  • ‘I’ve been drinking too much alcohol every week, I’m not gona cut it out completely because I enjoy it but instead I’m gona halve the amount because a bottle of wine every night is really not necessary.’
  • ‘I’m normally eating croissants for breakfast every day, can I eat something else that I also like instead that is better for me? Yes, Pret has a tasty porridge with berries. Great! I’ll do that.’

The above are just some examples but the main point is:

If you keep yourself accountable and have the mindset to make 1 small improvement per week.

And if you do it CONSISTENTLY over the course of a year, you will be in the best shape you have ever been in.

AND you will be able to keep it up forever because you are being realistic and integrating healthy choices into your EXISTING life, rather than doing some extreme things that you just cannot keep up!

Whatever your goal is, you’ve gotta keep a close eye on what you’re doing and always aim to make improvements over time.

If you have been procrastinating on this, then I hope this has been the push you needed.

Have a great day and make sure you hit the SHARE button if this helped you!
