Top Tips To Enjoy The Festive Season Without Ruining All Your Progress 🙂
Christmas is round the corner, the days are getting darker and mentally we are all beginning to turn off as the year comes to a close. However, most of my readers still have their fitness goals in mind (loosely at least). Which as you can see, can quite easily put us in a tricky conflict.
This is why I’ve put together a few festive hacks to get you through the season. The aim of the game here should be to enjoy this time of year and celebrate all your hard work. And also just surviving the crazy year that is 2020.
The last thing anyone should be feeling is guilty (far too common in fact), really you should be enjoying your time.
However on the flipside, its good to minimise the damage and keep up some good habits so when you do resume your routine in Jan, it doesn’t feel like you’re starting again from square one. (major motivation killer)
Festive Hacks:
1. Manage expectations – you are way more sedentary than normal plus surrounded by more eating/drinking activities so don’t expect that you will be losing weight/toning up. Cut yourself some slack!
2. Keep training/moving – Set yourself a mini challenge go to the gym for a 20 min workout or little jog or home workout with some bands before you consume anything. The goal here is not to have the best workout but it’s simply to keep a good habit going. And honestly you will feel like such a boss for getting a sweat on before wholeheartedly enjoying the rest of the day/night.
3. Eat Smart-ish – If you wanted to do 1 genius thing that would make a huge difference without sacrificing on your joy.
It would be: THE VERY FIRST PLATE of each meal FILL IT with salad/veg and protein. THEN do whatever you’re about to do after. But that foundation of nutrients is everything!
That is all. If you do these things when you come back in Jan you will be ahead of the game already as well as being charged up and ready to break through all your resolutions!

I know I’m early but have a great Xmas and New Year!
